Darcy's law is also used to describe fluid velocity in porous media. Furthermore, since rotating packed bed has high centrifugal acceleration, Kolmogorov turbulence theory as a suitable model to study the experimental setup. In this study, the Darcy model and the Kolmogorov theory were noted to detected changes in pressure drop and average droplet size in the packed zone of bed. theirfore, correspondence of an essential parameter in these models was done in order to determine the average droplet diameter and intrinsic permeability of the medium in the Darcy model. Finally, the influence of rotor speed and gas-liquid flow rate on pressure drop was a discussion. Also, a new correlation referred to calculation intrinsic permeability of Darcy's law and was evaluated by experimental data. Experimental data and calculation result of pressure drop has been high similarity that was an emphasis to use the appropriate assumption to achieve this result. In addition, the proximity of calculated average droplet size by Kolmogorov theory with experimental data that was published in literature study was illustrated the high performance of this basic assumption of Kolmogorov theory to coordination by rotating packed bed.
