In order to investigate the effect of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) on the TiO2 nanotubes structure and photocatalytic properties, the photocatalytic degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol was performed in two cases regarding the presence and absence of H2O2 in the pollutant solution. The effect of H2O2 on the TiO2 nanotubes structure and their photocatalytic properties were evaluated using a Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) and UV-Vis spectrophotometer device. The results indicated that the H2O2 Presence in the pollutant solution had a significant effect on the TiO2 nanotubes photocatalytic properties. H2O2 presence in the pollutant solution led to the destruction of the tubular structure of TiO2 nanotubes and consequently decreased the photocatalytic performance of titanium dioxide nanotubes. Adding 2mL of hydrogen peroxide to the pollutant solution cause to a decrease in the pollutant degradation from 50% (in the absence of H2O2) to 8%.
